Privacy Policy
Last updated 22 October 2026
Beardly ("the app") is made by Anemoia Labs Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales, which is the controller of the personal data described here. This policy explains what the app collects, why, who processes it on our behalf, and how you can have it deleted.
1. What we collect
- Account details: the email address and identifier that Sign in with Apple gives us. If you hide your email, we receive Apple's relay address instead.
- Your answers: your name, your date of birth, and the answers you give during setup, including your height and weight, your ethnicity, your beard and family history, your skin, your care routine, and your sleep, water, diet, exercise, stress and smoking habits.
- Photos: the beard photos you take or choose, at the start and each week in the tracker.
- Progress: the routines and daily tasks you tick off, and your streak.
- Purchases: whether you subscribe, handled by Apple and RevenueCat. We never see your card details.
- Diagnostics: crash reports and basic device information (model, operating system, app version) so we can fix problems.
- App events: installs, sessions and purchases, for advertising measurement as described in section 4.
Your ethnicity and some of your habits can count as sensitive data. You give them only if you choose to answer, and we use them only to work out your score and plan.
2. How we use it
- To work out your beard score and build your plan and routines.
- To keep your photos and progress so you can see them on any device you sign in on.
- To manage your subscription.
- To send reminders, only if you allow notifications.
- To find and fix crashes and to answer you when you contact support.
We do not sell your personal data. Your photos are never analysed, shared or used for advertising.
3. Who processes your data
We share personal data only with the providers that run parts of the app for us, each for the purpose listed:
- Supabase: our database and file storage, holding your account, answers, progress and photos.
- Apple: sign-in and payments.
- RevenueCat: subscription status.
- Expo: delivery of push notifications, if you allow them.
- Sentry: crash reports, on its European Union servers.
- Meta: advertising measurement, as described in section 4.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to a buyer of the business under the same protections as this policy.
4. Advertising measurement
To learn which adverts bring people to the app, Beardly includes Meta's SDK, which records app events such as installs and purchases. On iPhone it only links them to your identity across other companies' apps and websites if you say yes to the App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you say no, it receives no advertising identifier. Meta never receives your answers or your photos.
5. Security
Data travels between the app and our servers over encrypted connections. Your photos are kept in private storage, and the storage and database rules let only you read, change or delete your own data.
6. Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. To delete your account, write to support@anemoialabs.com from the email address linked to your account, or tell us that address, and we will delete your account, your answers, your progress and your photos within 30 days. Copies in our hosting provider's routine backups are deleted as those backups expire. Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, or ask for it in a portable format. Write to support@anemoialabs.com and we will answer within 30 days. If you are in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
8. Age
Beardly is not meant for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, write to us and we will delete their data.
9. International transfers
Your account data is stored with Supabase in the United States, and some of our other providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as standard contractual clauses.
10. This website
beardlyapp.com uses Vercel's privacy-friendly analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies and does not identify you.
11. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app when the change is significant.
12. Contact
